Magnum Monitor

Magnum Monitor is an all-in-one Intensive Care Unit Monitoring system. Magnum Monitor has two main aspects namely Hardware and Software. Magnum Monitor is a multi-display system which has 2-6 monitors attached and custom built to a Hospital’s requirements. It’s unique salient features are:

  • Magnum Monitor is a multi-display system which has 2-6 monitors seamlessly constructed to give feeling of a single display system and in each monitor the users can see the patients in each care unit like ICU, NICU, PICU, CCU, etc.
  • Magnum Monitor has been interfaced with various monitoring equipment like ECG, SaO2, RR, Pulse Rate, etc. The interfacing mechanism is via SRIT’s proprietary integration and interface engine – XTransEDI.
  • Magnum Monitor has inbuilt medical algorithms which allows auto alerting via graphical and audible representation of Critical events like the AVP value being below the normal range. All these algorithms are based on standards.

Technology:

Magnum Monitor has been developed using Microsoft WPF, WCF and WF technologies. The code has been written using C# and XAML. Magnum Monitor can seamlessly communicate with RCare Magnum HIS or with any other HIS via HL7 using SRIT’s XTransEDI.

Magnum Monitor’s Clinical Features:

The features which are presently available in Magnum Monitor are:

  • Landing Screen – This is the main screen where all the patients in the care unit are represented graphically and upon clicking on any of the patients will take you the Clinical Details Screen. Each of the patients are represented graphically via the photos in a box and if any of their monitoring values are abnormal, the box starts flashing and a sound can be associated with the event as an alarm. All these events are based on clinically valid algorithms.
  • Clinical Details Screen – This screen has the option of representing all the live monitors in a 3D mode and includes but not limited to Pulse Rate, SaO2, ECG, etc. It also can represent details about the Vital Signs, Alerts, Allergies, Fluid Balance Charting, IV & Drips View, active medications details, Active Lab results, Active Orders, clinical notes and much more. At the bottom of the screen any DICOM images are available for the patient including but not limited to US, CT, MRI details and are easily configurable by the end user.
  • EMR Screen – This screen upon clicking will take the user directly to the Electronic Medical Record of the patient with a  summary view of all the details or a detailed view of the Patient’s allergies, Medications, Lab results, Radiology results, Procedures conducted, Fluid balance charting, Nursing notes, Doctors Clinical Documentation and much more
  • Communication Screen – On entering the screen, the user has a quick mode of Calling any other actor could be a Doctor, Nurse or an Administrator via Skype, Phone call via the Hospital’s EPABX, SMS, or Nurse Call System through a single interaction. The ability to Video conference also exists via the same screen
  • Documents Screen  - Provides the user with an easy way of handling multiple documents required from an admission and care perspective
  • There are many more functionalities which include Forms/Checklists, Flow sheets, Orders, Notes, Discharge documents, etc.

Magnum Monitor’s screens are automatically displayed based on the intensive care unit and the functionalities differ for Cardiac Care, Oncology care, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and much more.
