R2I Framework

On the technology front, change has always connoted success, growth and empowerment. Change, for change’s sake is not the intent. It is the ability to change faster than your competition, customers and business which ensures a head-start in the race. But, it is this very change that renders Technology Assets and Software Products obsolete, thereby creating opportunities for innovations. Although innovations in this field are abundant, implementation of the same involves huge costs.Striking a balance between the two is the need of the hour. While the demand for technology and software products is constantly increasing, there is minimal effort being made on the production side to bring down the costs. Rather than accepting these costs as a part of development process, companies are choosing to find newer ways to cut cost, but not compromise on quality. This ensures profitability, and at the same time, customer satisfaction. While the trend is fast picking up and being implemented by businesses across verticals, what, then, would peg organizations higher than others?

The solution lies in reworking the processes of development. One concept that has been in vogue is the ‘Re-usability Engineering’, where component parts are used for same purposes again. A pathbreaking extension of this concept is ‘Salvage Technology’, which means, saving on one front opens a window of opportunities for effective usage on another. This concept has acted as the base for the ideation of SRIT’s R2I Productization FrameworkTM.

The R2I FrameworkTM is a SRIT methodology that enables companies to do away with the increasing problem of legacy systems, application development costs, rigidity in applications, redundancy and execution risk. It creates and consolidates technology assets into organization-specific platforms to build and assemble new products and services. It is an attempt to control the mounting costs during Application Development by adapting to a framework of guidelines.
