SRIT-TMC Alliance

SRIT and Tropicana Medical Centre (TMC), Malaysia entered into a definitive agreement this September to partner for their upcoming flagship hospital, TMC Life Sciences Berhad. SRIT along with their local partner, People Associates (PA) and TMC were key participants involved in the signing ceremony organized at JW Marriot, Kuala Lumpur on the 6th of September, 2007.

TMC Life Sciences Berhad, formerly known as TMC Fertility Centre for over 13 years, is listed on the Malaysian stock exchange. While focusing on the core subspecialties like infertility, laparoscopic surgery, gynae-oncology etc, TMC will, foreseeing future demand, provide specialist services like breast surgery, gastrointestinal services, endocrinology, nephrology, plastic surgery, and cardiology. Expected to commence operations from 2008, TMC Life Sciences is looking at expanding its focus areas beyond fertility, children and women health services.

SRIT will provide a suite of automation solutions for effective hospital management and care delivery by integrating SRIT’s Hospital Information Management System – RCare MagnumTM, Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS) – rChiveTM and Radiology Information System into TMC’s new hospital.

The synergistic fit between SRIT’s vision & offerings with TMC’s vision & needs has enabled, what is known as, an integrated, end-to-end healthcare delivery in Malaysia. Towards this, TMC organized a signing ceremony to highlight the contract between SRIT, TMC and PA. The chief guests and attendees for the event included Mr. Y B Datuk Dr. Hj. Abdul Latiff Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Health-Malaysia & High Commission of India and Mr. Sanjay Panda, Counsellor (Education & Economics). The gathering was addressed by Mr. Bryan Lin, CEO-TMC, Mr. N J Joseph, Director Worldwide Sales-SRIT and Mr. Y B Datuk Dr. Hj. Abdul Latiff Ahmad, Dy Health Minister. Speeches were followed by a press conference wherein queries from press regarding the future of healthcare in Malaysia were addressed by the dignitaries. A networking high-tea session was organized after the press conference for participating entities to exchange thoughts and gain insight into the value, this relationship would bring to all.

The dynamic change in Malaysia transitioning from a Government regulated health system addressing a limited local market to a global medical tourism destination has set IT usage as a major differentiator in public and private care centers. SRIT and TMC together are pioneering the concept of ICT enabled healthcare delivery to facilitate the imminent paradigm shift in global care delivery. SRIT looks forward to such synergistic collaborations to enable better living.
